Spring and summer hikes.

Jennie and I hiked Lake Blanch in the Spring there was alot
of snow. In fact we hiked through it for at least a mile. We were a little crazy.
My mom and Janelle hiked to Dog lake with me. What I like about
this hike is you can go up the big water trail and than hike back down
on the little water trail. This was my third time on this hike.

This pretty scene was on Twin Lakes trail.

My little girl Jennie came with me on a few hikes.
It was sometimes a bit difficult carring her on my back.
this is Lake Mary up at Brighton and the trail is a bit steep.
Amber is a great hiker she goes with me alot. This is at Dog Lake
Waterfall Canyon hike. It was amazing. It's good to hike
in late spring when the water is raging. Thanks Elisa and Jennie
for coming with me. We also wen't to eat at Cafe Rio. We need to
go again next year for sure!

Little hikers. Mindi complained the whole time. She kept saying
why don't we just take the shortcut.

We drove up Big Cottonwood on a rainy summer day.
Lake Mary on the way to Sunset Peak. Lake Mary
Lake Mary and Martha in the background. She made it. And she wanted to turn back when we were so close.
She was really glad she decided to go the whole way to Sunset Peak.
The view was breathtaking!

After Clouds Sun

I like this painting...

"Sometimes the Spirit Touches Us Through Our Weakness"

by James Christensen

The Latin post nubila phoebus, translates as “after clouds, sun” which is something like our saying “every cloud has a silver lining.” The iconic Christensen hunchback-as-Everyman is somber and a bit troubled. “The hump represents his troubles,” says Christensen, “and we all have them, but there is a little light at the place where the angel spirit’s finger touches the hump. I wanted to show how we grow from coping with adversity. Humbled by our weaknesses, we can be more open to things divine.”
The deceptively simple composition of this James C. Christensen Anniversary Edition contains many of the artist’s most defining elements and inspiration: the hunchback, the light of the spirit, the checkerboard floor representing the opposing aspects of life—light and dark, yin and yang, and a doorway to the unknown…combine to convey a story of hope, recovery and new growth.
